Gumi Police Station Strengthens Capabilities of Child Safety Keepers
Strengthening Public Safety Through Commendations and On-Site Response Training
On August 13, Gumi Police Station in Gyeongbuk announced that it had conducted the '2025 Second Job Training Session' for 121 Child Safety Keepers in the main conference room on the third floor of the station.
This training was organized to review activities from the first half of the year, strengthen capabilities ahead of full-scale activities in the second half, and instill a sense of duty regarding the safety of children and local residents.
During the event, four outstanding participants, selected based on their performance in the first half of the year, were awarded certificates of appreciation. Of these, two received certificates from the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency Chief, while the other two received certificates from the Chief of Gumi Police Station, along with additional prizes.
A police official explained, "These commendations go beyond simple encouragement and will serve as an opportunity to boost the pride and sense of responsibility of Child Safety Keepers."
The special training session was led by Kang Heeju, an instructor from the Dementia Relief Center at Gumi Public Health Center, and focused on practical topics such as health management for the keepers, dementia prevention guidelines, and initial response procedures for encountering lost children or wandering elderly individuals during patrols.
In particular, the session emphasized strengthening on-site response capabilities by sharing real-life cases and response methods, which received a highly positive response.
