Goryeong County Hosts Social Economy Startup Idea Contest... Grand Prize Goes to 'Leisure Brewing Experience Content'
On August 12, Goryeong County, North Gyeongsang Province, held the "Startup Idea Contest for Discovering Social Economy Initiatives" at the Daegaya Happy Dream Center and selected three winning teams.

View original imageThis contest was organized to discover innovative ideas from (prospective) entrepreneurs interested in launching social economy enterprises. Teams that advanced to the finals took the stage after a preliminary document screening and startup camp held in July.
The grand prize was awarded to CEO Sohee An for the "Leisure Brewing Experience Content" project. The top excellence award went to CEO Eunmi Bae for the "Tax and Accounting Tutoring Center for the Employment Vulnerable," while the excellence award was given to CEO Mijeong Kim for "Ttae-Towel Goods Utilizing Local Culture."
The winning teams will receive up to 5 million won in startup support funds (for the grand prize), which can be used for prototype development and promotional materials. Participants also received consulting services for entering the social economy sector from "Local and Social Network Biz," and additional support will be provided in connection with the Goryeong County Job and Youth Startup Support Center.

County Governor Namchul Lee stated, "Many creative ideas for the local community have been discovered," and added, "We will continue to establish systematic support measures so that entrepreneurs can grow stably and coexist with the region."
