Vroong, a delivery agency platform, announced on August 12 that it has activated a 'Heat Illness Prevention Safety Plan' to protect riders in response to the ongoing heat wave.
Vroong operates more than 80 VRS (Vroong Rental Stations) nationwide, providing shelters where riders can safely take breaks. The company has also begun sharing information to prevent heat-related illnesses during the summer. Through the Vroong rider-exclusive application, the company has sent out notifications detailing symptoms of heat illness and instructions on how to respond if they occur.
Additionally, Vroong is providing 5,000 pairs of cooling sleeves free of charge to riders across the country. This measure is intended to help suppress body temperature increases for riders who operate for extended periods under the hot sun and to offer immediate, tangible prevention against heat-related illnesses in the field.
