Jinju Archery Range Emerges as a Training Hub
Welcoming National Teams from Ukraine After Domestic Teams
Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province has established itself as a training hub by attracting even overseas national archery teams, leveraging the Jinju Sports Park Archery Range, which is the first and only dedicated archery venue in the province.
According to the city on August 11, last year, archery teams preparing for the National Sports Festival, including Seoul Physical Education High School, conducted intensive training at the Jinju Archery Range. This year, 25 archers from the national teams of Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will begin their training camp. In preparation for the '2025 Gwangju Hyundai World Archery Championships' to be held in September, these teams will train at the Jinju Archery Range from August 25 to September 4, focusing on improving their performance.
The UAE national team will train at the Jinju Sports Park Archery Range for 11 days and 10 nights from August 25 to September 4, while the Ukrainian team will train for 6 days and 5 nights from August 30 to September 4. Both teams will use a total of eight state-of-the-art shooting lanes, equipped with advanced heating and cooling systems and rest areas.

This is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy in the areas of accommodation, dining, and tourism. Jinju City and the Jinju City Sports Council are also preparing a range of administrative support measures, including waiving training facility fees, free admission to major tourist sites, and the presentation of local specialty products.
Mayor Cho Kyu-il stated, "The Jinju Sports Park Archery Range, completed in June last year, is the only dedicated archery venue in the province. Since hosting domestic teams for the National Sports Festival last year, it has now become an international training destination for top overseas teams. We will continue to strengthen various support measures to achieve both the successful training of athletes and the revitalization of the local economy."
Kim Taekse, President of the Jinju City Sports Council, said, "With the hosting of the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships, the 2025 Korea Invitational International Women's Volleyball Tournament, and visits from overseas national teams, our city has established itself as an international sports city. Through this training camp, I hope the athletes will maintain their best condition, further improve their skills, and leave Jinju with fond memories of their training here."
