This year marks the eighth Korea-India workshop, where the two countries will explore ways to collaborate in the fields of AI and semiconductors. Many experts from both nations will participate, including Jeon Hyejeong, Research Fellow at LG Electronics AI Research Institute, and Janakarajan Ramkumar, Professor Emeritus at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

This workshop is being held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and India, as well as the 10th anniversary of their Special Strategic Partnership. Yoon Euijoon, President of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, stated, "Korea and India are excellent partners in the fields of AI and semiconductors. As demands for global supply chain restructuring and technological sovereignty increase, it is important for both countries to build an even stronger and more collaborative innovation system." He added, "Through this workshop, I hope we will gain practical insights and ideas to strengthen cooperation not only in AI and semiconductors, but also in applied fields such as aerospace, mobility, and advanced manufacturing."
