AI Contest Closes September 30... Prize Money 4.2 Million Won
The National Gwangju Science Museum announced on August 11 that it will hold a convergence creative contest combining mathematics, art, and artificial intelligence.
The 7th Math Art Contest, themed "Embroidering Art with Numbers," is open to elementary, middle, and high school students, university students, and the general public nationwide. Entries may take any form, including math-based physical models, video art, and images, with no restrictions on format. However, only original works that do not use generative AI tools are eligible. Submissions will be accepted until August 24, and a total of nine winners will receive awards, including the Minister of Science and ICT Award, and prize money totaling 4.4 million won. The winning works will be exhibited at the 2025 Art Science Festival starting October 17.
The 1st Artificial Intelligence Creative Contest, being held for the first time this year, focuses on music and visual art. It is open to elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide, as well as youth of the same age group. For the music category, participants must submit a music file and score of approximately 60 seconds with a bright background sound, including lyrics that mention "National Gwangju Science Museum." For the visual art category, high-resolution images on the theme of science are accepted. Participants must also submit prompt materials to verify the use of generative AI tools.
Entries for the Artificial Intelligence Creative Contest will be accepted until September 30. Submissions are accepted only by email, either individually or in teams of up to three members. Seven winning teams will receive a total of 4.2 million won in prize money. The winning works will be used in exhibitions at the science museum.
