Fall Royal Culture Festival Opens on October 8... Volunteers Wanted
About 700,000 People Participated in This Spring's Royal Culture Festival
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the Cultural Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Center announced on August 7 that this year's fall Royal Culture Festival will be held from October 8 to October 12.
The Royal Culture Festival is a cultural event held every spring and fall. It features a variety of performances, hands-on activities, and exhibitions at Seoul's major palaces?Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, and Gyeonghuigung?as well as at Jongmyo Shrine. Approximately 700,000 people participated in the spring event this year.
In preparation for the festival, the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center and the National Heritage Center are recruiting volunteers called "Gungidungi." Any Korean citizen born before 2006, as well as foreigners who can communicate in Korean, are eligible to apply. About 50 volunteers will be selected, with plans to recruit at least 10 foreigners.

Gungidungi volunteers will be provided with activity supplies and transportation expenses. They will also receive a certificate of completion after the event. Applications will be accepted until 11:00 p.m. on August 20. The final list of successful candidates will be announced on September 5, following a review of documents and video submissions.
