The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on August 7 that it will hold the fourth session of this year's "Gwangju College Admission Parents Academy" on August 13 at the main auditorium of the Educational Research and Information Center. This session will focus on the theme of "Preparing for the Comprehensive Student Record Screening through Self-Directed Inquiry-Based Learning."
The lecture will be delivered by Kim Yongjin, a teacher at Dongguk University-affiliated Youngseok High School. Kim will discuss how reading can benefit both classroom learning and college admissions, and will introduce ways to conduct inquiry-based learning through self-directed reading. In addition, he will provide guidance on how to develop inquiry skills in school classes, reflecting current trends in the evaluation of the comprehensive student record screening process.
Kim has been active in the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s College Admission Guidance Support Group and the Seoul Secondary Education Curriculum Research Association, and has served as an admissions expert at major universities in Seoul. The academy is open to all interested citizens, including parents of students in the third year of middle school and the first and second years of high school, and students are also welcome to participate.
Students and parents who wish to participate can register on the Career and College Admission Support Center website of the city’s Office of Education until August 11. On-site registration will also be available.
