Wando County to Fully Cover Health Checkup Costs for 500 Female Fishery Workers
Up to 200,000 Won in Support
for Female Fishery Workers Aged 51 and Older
Wando County in South Jeolla Province announced on August 7 that it will implement a program to fully cover the cost of specialized health checkups for female fishery workers aged 51 and older.
Female fishery workers often engage in labor-intensive tasks that place significant strain on the musculoskeletal system, and many also perform double duties such as household chores and childcare, making specialized health checkups necessary. Accordingly, Wando County plans to provide health checkup support for 500 female fishery workers this year.

However, those who received specialized health checkup support last year or are eligible for the special health checkup program for women farmers are excluded.
The program provides up to 200,000 won per person for health checkup expenses. Female fishery workers wishing to apply should submit their applications to their local town or township office by December 10. Checkups can be conducted at Daeseong Hospital and Geumil Anesthesia and Pain Medicine Clinic.
