The second floor will house community care facilities and rest areas for the elderly, while the third floor will feature shared workspaces and storage for young people and military personnel.
This project was planned to address population aging, the decline in the youth population, and specialized demand related to military bases. It will combine housing, welfare, and cultural exchange functions in connection with the Yeongbuk-myeon urban regeneration project. Healing programs will be provided for the elderly, while tailored programs and services such as self-development, joint work, and hobby activities will be offered to young people and military personnel.
The total project cost amounts to 14,613,000,000 KRW, consisting of 4,593,000,000 KRW from the national budget, 4,828,000,000 KRW from funds, 2,992,000,000 KRW from the city budget, and 2,200,000,000 KRW linked to the urban regeneration project.
Pocheon City expects this project to improve living convenience in deteriorated residential areas, encourage settlement of young people and military base populations, expand local infrastructure, and revitalize the central urban area, thereby invigorating the entire region. The project is scheduled to officially begin in the second half of 2025.
