Song Hyungon, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea, Goheung 1), announced on August 6 that he participated in the relay support challenge wishing for the successful hosting of the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo.
This challenge, held under the theme "Connecting Islands, the Sea, and the Future," was designed to widely promote the ecological and cultural value of islands and to present the future potential of islands.

View original imageSong stated, "The islands of Jeonnam are the foundation of our lives and are precious assets that embrace the history and culture of living together with the sea." He added, "I hope this Expo will shed light on the lives and values of island residents, as well as their unique ecological environment and cultural heritage, and provide a concrete vision for the future potential of islands."
Song also nominated Assembly member Kim Jaecheol as the next participant in the relay and called for continued interest and support for the Expo.
