Geumsan County to Build 66 Public Rental Apartments for Newlyweds and Young People
Construction Planned on Former Hankook Tire Company Housing Site
Geumsan County will develop up to 66 units of public rental apartments on the site of the former Hankook Tire company housing, targeting newlywed couples and young people.
This project, which Geumsan County is pursuing to attract younger generations whose numbers are declining compared to the elderly population, will be established at 366-1 Sangok-ri, Geumsan-eup, with completion targeted for 2028.
On July 25, the county's plan for dismantling the existing apartments, the first phase of the project, passed the review of the Geumsan County Architecture Committee. As a result, the county will proceed with a local finance investment review and a public offering for private operators.
Within approximately a 1-kilometer radius of the project site are Geumsan County Office and the downtown area, and both Geumsan Central Elementary School and Geumsan Library are within a 10-minute walk. This makes it an excellent residential option for young people and newlywed couples raising children.
In addition, the neighboring site is simultaneously being developed as the Aijoa Center, creating an environment where residential spaces and childcare and parenting infrastructure are integrally connected.
