A Unique Marathon Bringing Together Businesspeople, Office Workers, and Residents
Guro District in Seoul (Mayor Jang Inhong) is recruiting participants for the “G Valley Necktie Run,” which will take place on August 26 in the Guro Digital Complex area.
The “G Valley Necktie Run” is a unique marathon event organized by Guro District, where businesspeople, office workers, and local residents in G Valley run together wearing neckties to foster unity. First held in 2003, this year marks the 20th edition of the event.
This year’s slogan is “Tie-up! Run-up!” The event is designed to be a platform for cooperation, connecting businesses and the local community, as well as individuals with one another. It also serves as a festival to celebrate the advancement of Guro as a city of enterprises.
The course is approximately 2.3 kilometers long, beginning at Mario Tower, passing major buildings within the Guro Digital Complex, and returning to Mario Tower in a circular route. After the marathon, there will be a variety of post-race programs, including awards for best necktie fashion, prize drawings, street performances, and complimentary beverages. Anyone can participate, and registration is free via the “G Valley Necktie Run” website or by visiting the Guro District Chamber of Commerce from August 7 to September 11.
