On August 5, Lee Junggu, Chairperson of the Daegu Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee, presented a plaque of appreciation to Lee Jinwook, a member of the Dong-gu District Council in Daegu, at the Dong-gu District Council. This was in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of the autonomous police system, including the enactment of the 'Ordinance on Support for Autonomous Police Affairs.'
On July 10, the Dong-gu District Council in Daegu enacted the 'Ordinance on Support for Autonomous Police Affairs in Dong-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City' to facilitate the smooth implementation of autonomous police affairs and to strengthen community-tailored public safety services.

The ordinance includes practical support measures such as the activation of autonomous police affairs, the establishment of cooperative systems with related organizations, and the operation of working-level consultative bodies. It is expected to serve as an institutional foundation for the stable operation of the autonomous police system in the future.
Lee Jinwook, a member of the Dong-gu District Council in Daegu, stated, "For the autonomous police system to become a system that genuinely enhances residents' sense of safety, support at the local government level is essential.
