Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Official Residence of North Gyeongsang Governor Lee Cheolwoo
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit 1 of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency announced on July 28 that they had conducted a search and seizure of the official residence of North Gyeongsang Province Governor Lee Cheolwoo on July 24.
The police stated that the search and seizure was carried out to investigate allegations that North Gyeongsang Province provided subsidies and benefits in connection with a media event held in Pohang in 2022.

In relation to this case, the police have been investigating five current and former North Gyeongsang Province officials (from grade 4 to 7) as suspects since November of last year. In February, they also conducted a search and seizure of the relevant departments at the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government Office. The police have notified Governor Lee to appear for questioning in September.
