IBK Industrial Bank: SMEs Show Growing Optimism for Economic Recovery Next Year
Announcement of the 2025 SME Financial Status Survey Results
On July 28, IBK Industrial Bank announced the results of the "2025 SME Financial Status Survey," which was conducted with 4,500 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with annual sales exceeding 500 million KRW, as recorded in the Corporate Statistics Register.
The survey results indicate that SMEs are beginning to show expectations for a gradual economic recovery starting next year. The proportion of respondents who expect their business conditions to "improve" (23.1%) increased compared to the previous year, while those anticipating "deterioration" (17.3%) showed a declining trend. In addition, the outlook for "increased" demand for funds rose by 9 percentage points compared to the previous year.
Regarding business conditions in the second half of 2025, the highest proportion of respondents (63.3%) expected conditions to "remain the same," while the outlook for "deterioration" decreased slightly by 9.8 percentage points.
