This support for cooling expenses is intended to protect the health of seniors and to provide a comfortable environment in cooling shelters. Each center will receive 250,000 won per month for three months from July to September, totaling 750,000 won per center.
Previously, support was provided only for July and August, but in order to proactively respond to the prolonged heatwave, the city will allocate additional funding from its budget to extend the support through September for the first time this year. The city completed the allocation of the preliminary budget for heatwave countermeasures on July 17, and on July 24, distributed the additional cooling funds to the senior centers in the city.
