Ozone Advisory Issued for 11 Central Gyeonggi Cities Including Suwon, Ansan, and Anyang
The Korea Environment Corporation under the Ministry of Environment announced on July 26 at 3:00 p.m. that an ozone advisory had been issued for 11 cities in the central region of Gyeonggi Province. The affected areas are Suwon, Ansan, Anyang, Bucheon, Siheung, Gwangmyeong, Gunpo, Uiwang, Gwacheon, Hwaseong, and Osan.
As of 3:00 p.m., the hourly average ozone concentration in the areas under the ozone advisory was recorded at 0.1241 ppm (parts per million).
An ozone advisory is issued when the hourly average ozone (O₃) concentration in the air is 0.12 ppm or higher. An ozone warning is issued at 0.30 ppm or higher, and an ozone emergency warning is issued at 0.50 ppm or higher.

When an ozone advisory is issued, the elderly, children, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should refrain from outdoor activities. It is also recommended that the general public avoid outdoor activities or strenuous exercise.
