Financial Literacy Education for Children Scheduled on the 31st, with Donations of Goods to Participants
K Bank announced on July 24 that it had conducted a "Financial Fraud Prevention and Basic Financial Literacy" education program for around 80 seniors at the Gang Gamchan Gwanak Social Welfare Center in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.
This program was designed under the theme of "Preventing Financial Fraud" to make essential financial knowledge and fraud prevention methods easily understandable for everyone in their daily lives.
The senior education session held on July 23 was divided into two parts. In the first part, titled "Money You Don't Lose, Wisdom to Protect," actual cases of financial fraud targeting seniors?such as voice phishing, smishing, and fake investment scams?were introduced. The session also provided easy-to-understand explanations on how to respond to suspicious situations and the procedures for reporting incidents if damage occurs.
The second part, "Smart Finance, Confident Rights," covered essential rights to know when signing up for financial products and introduced systems designed to protect financial consumers from misselling.
K Bank also plans to conduct a financial education session for about 20 elementary school students at the Saebit Community Child Center in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on July 31.
Under the theme of "Basic Financial Knowledge, Voice Phishing Prevention, and How to Use Internet-Only Banks," the program aims to provide children, who are just beginning to encounter finance in their daily lives, with an experiential program that combines play and quizzes to teach them the concept of money, the role of banks, and methods to avoid falling victim to scams.
A K Bank representative said, "We are working to bridge the financial information gap that can occur across generations and to help people protect themselves from the risk of financial fraud," adding, "We continue to introduce various services and features to protect customers, such as AI-based voice phishing detection and full compensation services for identity theft."
