It was held a total of six times?three sessions each in the Gijang and Jeonggwan regions?until July 16, 2025.
The sessions focused on practical topics closely related to daily life, such as postpartum care, newborn care, and parenting methods, and received high satisfaction from participants. In particular, the program fostered understanding and empathy regarding different parenting styles across generations and achieved alignment in parenting values.
One expectant mother shared, "Attending the class with my mother-in-law allowed us to understand each other's parenting approaches, and it served as a valuable opportunity for communication."
An official from the Gijang County Public Health Center stated, "Intergenerational cooperation in parenting is important in today's society," and added, "We will continue to develop various programs that can enhance family-centered parenting capabilities."
Gijang County plans to continue expanding integrated parenting education programs involving both grandparents and expectant parents. For more information about the 'Dodamdodam Parenting Class,' please contact the Maternal and Child Health Office at the Jeonggwan Health Branch.
