DYPNF to Invest KRW 13.7 Billion in Building Used Battery Recycling Factory in Dalseong, Daegu
Signing of New Investment Agreement
Full-Scale Operation Scheduled for January 2028
On July 22, Daegu City signed an investment memorandum of understanding (MOU) with DYPNF Co., Ltd. (CEO Byungwook Yoo) for the establishment of a "used battery recycling factory" within the Dalseong Secondary Battery Industry Circulation Park. The signing ceremony took place in the main conference room at Sanggyeok Government Complex, Daegu City Hall.
DYPNF Co., Ltd., headquartered in the Seoul metropolitan area, was founded in 1999 and listed on KOSDAQ in 2009. It is a mid-sized company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of powder conveying systems, as well as providing related engineering services. In particular, the company has established itself as the No. 1 domestic and global Top 3 company in the field by supplying powder conveying equipment to major domestic conglomerate plants, especially in areas that require high precision such as secondary battery material transport, leveraging its proprietary technology.
Through this agreement, DYPNF will invest approximately KRW 13.7 billion to build a "used battery recycling factory" on a 11,310 square meter (3,421 pyeong) site within the Dalseong Secondary Battery Industry Circulation Park in Daegu. This investment is aimed at proactively responding to new markets in the battery recycling business sector based on its powder conveying technology.
The factory is scheduled to break ground in January 2027 and begin full-scale operations in January 2028. Through this project, the creation of approximately 30 new jobs is expected.
Daegu City expects that this investment will accelerate the establishment of a full-cycle ecosystem for batteries within the secondary battery circulation park, connecting the clustering and demonstration of used battery-related companies with resource recovery.
Byungwook Yoo, CEO of DYPNF, stated, "DYPNF is actively expanding into overseas markets as well as the domestic market based on its unrivaled technological capabilities, and is diversifying its business areas through eco-friendly system EPC and other initiatives. In the secondary battery sector, we will do our best to contribute to the revitalization of the Daegu regional economy through continuous research, development, and investment."
Seongju Hong, Deputy Mayor of Economy of Daegu City, said, "Through this investment, we hope that DYPNF, a global company, will successfully establish itself in the secondary battery sector. As the first company in the secondary battery circulation park, DYPNF will be supported through administrative and policy measures so that it can grow into an anchor company leading the battery recycling industry ecosystem."
