Coast Guard "Investigating the Circumstances of the Accident with Captains and Crew"
An accident occurred off the coast of Wando County, Jeollanam-do, when two fishing boats collided, resulting in one person being injured.
According to the Wando Coast Guard Station on July 18, at approximately 8:56 a.m., a 5.85-ton vessel, referred to as Ship A, and a 4.91-ton vessel, referred to as Ship B, collided about 4.6 kilometers south of Hwahunghpo in Wando County. At the time of the accident, a total of five people were on board the two fishing boats. The collision caused damage to the starboard stern of Ship A, with a reported size of approximately 30 centimeters by 20 centimeters.

View original imageAs a result of the accident, a crew member identified as Mr. C, who was on board Ship A, suffered a head contusion and complained of dizziness. He was urgently transported to a nearby hospital. The Wando Coast Guard used a patrol vessel to transfer Mr. C to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. The remaining four crew members on Ships A and B did not sustain any injuries.
An official from the Wando Coast Guard Station stated, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident by questioning the captains and crew members of both Ship A and Ship B."
