All of the donated works were previously exhibited at the “14th Seoul International Sculpture Festa 2025” held in February of this year.
“Sori-bruit” is a work that expresses the intangible concept of “sound” through a combination of objects imbued with the will of nature and humanity. By utilizing various materials commonly used in sculpture genres?such as granite, marble, bronze, FRP, wood, and plaster?and combining them with real-world objects, the works allow viewers to experience the illusion and delight of hearing through sight.
President Park Jaekyu expressed his gratitude, saying, “It is very meaningful to display Professor Hyungjun Lim’s original works, which offer the pleasure of hearing through sight and guide us into a world of imaginative thought beyond reality, at Hanma Future Hall.”
Meanwhile, Professor Hyungjun Lim graduated from the Department of Art Education at Kyungnam University in 1983 and completed both undergraduate and graduate studies at the Department of Fine Arts, Paris 8 University in France. He has been active in Seoul, Japan, and Taiwan, and gained recognition after winning the Grand Prize at the “JoongAng Fine Arts Competition” hosted by JoongAng Ilbo in 1987. Since 1992, he has served as a professor in the Department of Art Education at the College of Education, Kyungnam University.
After his retirement in February 2025, he has been dedicated to nurturing future scholars and contributing to the university’s development as an honorary chair professor in the Graduate School’s Department of Cultural Heritage Restoration Arts. In addition, as head of the Cultural Heritage Care Center, he is leading efforts to preserve and restore the Gaya cultural heritage.
