"Experience Living in Wando"... Full Expenses Covered for 6 Nights and 7 Days
Up to 100,000 Won Per Day for Accommodation and Activities
Preference Given to Travel Writers, YouTubers, and Social Media Experts
Wando County in South Jeolla Province is recruiting participants for a long-term stay tourism project called "Traveling in Namdo for a Month" to revitalize local tourism.
On July 17, Wando County announced, "As part of Jeonnam Province's long-stay tourism initiative, this project aims to have participants stay in Wando for a set period, experience the lives of locals, and discover and promote the region's hidden charms." The county added, "We plan to select approximately seven teams, each consisting of one or two people."
Selected participants will receive travel expenses of up to 100,000 won per day, which will cover accommodation, meals, and activity fees for a 6-night, 7-day stay in Wando.
Eligible applicants are adults aged 18 or older from across the country, excluding residents of Jeonnam and Gwangju, who are proficient in using social media and can stay in Wando for at least seven days. The county especially plans to give preference to influencers with strong social media skills, such as travel writers, YouTubers, and power bloggers.
Participants will be tasked with introducing Wando's hidden attractions and vividly sharing their experiences on social media. Through this, Wando County aims to maximize tourism promotion effects and intends to reflect any inconveniences and suggestions for improvement, collected through participant satisfaction surveys, in future tourism policies.
Those wishing to apply must submit the required documents by mail or via the designated contact person's email by 6:00 p.m. on July 28. Detailed information can be found in the announcements section on the Wando County Office website, and inquiries should be directed to the Tourism Product Development Team.
A county official stated, "True travel is not just about passing through, but about staying and experiencing the life of the region." The official continued, "We hope you will experience the true value of travel in Wando, which is blessed with pristine nature and abundant marine healing resources." The official added, "We expect this long-stay project to become an opportunity to invigorate the local tourism industry."
