Bananas grown in Jeongeup thrived in conditions with an average temperature above 10°C, abundant sunlight, and adequate irrigation. In particular, the bananas were managed through a ripening process to achieve optimal sweetness and texture.
Compared to imported bananas, Jeongeup-grown bananas stand out in terms of freshness and quality. Their rich flavor and excellent texture are expected to increase consumer satisfaction.
Consumers can purchase Jeongeup bananas for 10,000 won per kilogram through 'Jeongeup Toktok,' the city's promotional channel on Naver Band. The city also plans to establish a reliable distribution system focused on direct transactions.
A city official stated, "Bananas are an excellent model of sustainable agriculture that responds to the era of climate change," and added, "We will continue to expand technical support needed for eco-friendly subtropical crop cultivation and actively support farms so that they can secure stable sources of income."
