Seongbuk-gu Introduces 'Smart Mailbox' to Enhance Security
On July 17, Seongbuk-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Seungro) announced that it has introduced and is now operating a 'Smart Mailbox' system to enhance systematic management and security of civil documents and various internal and external papers.
The Smart Mailbox allows only authorized users to receive documents through a user authentication system. It also automatically records all opening and closing activities, making it effective in preventing unauthorized access, loss, and damage.
Seongbuk-gu expects this initiative to overcome the limitations of conventional key-based mailboxes and reduce concerns about personal information leaks. The district also anticipates improved administrative trust among civil petitioners and increased efficiency in the document receipt and delivery process.
