On July 16, the two organizations held a 'Visiting KIT-DAY' event at Seokseong Middle School in Buyeo, in conjunction with the mobile AI experience space 'KT AI Station,' aiming to strengthen the digital capabilities of local youth.
This program was designed to help students in digitally underserved regions directly experience AI technology and grow into key players in the future AI-driven society.
The Provincial Office of Education and KT are operating this program by visiting eight middle schools throughout the province.
The KT AI Station is an experiential education space mounted on a mobile vehicle, featuring two main themes: the 'K-Intelligence Experience Center' and the 'ESG Experience Center.'
At the AI Stadium and AI Studio, students can engage with KT's AI technologies in an interactive manner. The program also includes digital ethics education on topics such as deepfakes and fake news.
During the event, members of KT's university student IT supporters group 'KIT' provided coding education and mentoring on the topic of AI digital ethics, helping students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed in the era of artificial intelligence.
Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol stated, "Bridging the digital divide is extremely important in preparing for the AI era," and added, "Through our partnership with KT, we will continue to support all students in Chungnam so they can acquire the competencies needed for the future society."
Meanwhile, KT and the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education plan to jointly expand a variety of digital education programs starting with this experiential education initiative.
