"Advancing as a Digital Financial City"... Busan City Holds Fintech Hub Resident Companies Meeting
Busan City has organized an event to appoint private partners who will share the achievements of fintech companies and support their growth.
On July 14, Busan City (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) will hold the "2025 Busan Fintech Hub CEO Meeting" at the Busan International Finance Center. During the event, the city will review the performance of resident companies for the first half of the year and strengthen its cooperation with new partners.
Attendees include representatives from fintech hub resident companies, the city government, Busan Technology Startup Investment Institute, Korea Exchange, and other related organizations. The "Busan Fintech Hub" is a business development platform established and operated by the city since 2019, offering customized growth programs, a financial data lab, marketing consulting, and professional developer training, among other support. Currently, there are 48 resident companies.
The meeting featured presentations on each company's performance for the first half of the year, as well as awards for high-growth companies in areas such as revenue, employment, and commercialization. In addition, BNK Venture Investment and Dayone Company were newly appointed as growth support partners. The city plans to work with these partners to advance fintech companies' business models, connect them with investment opportunities, and expand their markets.
Since its opening in 2019, the hub has hosted a total of 107 companies, with 30% of them increasing their revenue by more than tenfold after moving in. The cumulative investment and loan amount secured by these companies grew from 4 billion won in 2020 to 71.2 billion won by the end of 2024. During the same period, cumulative sales reached 209.9 billion won. Based on these achievements, the city plans to establish a dedicated space for promising fintech companies in the third phase of the BIFC to strengthen the foundation for business expansion.
Currently, the Fintech Hub is collaborating with companies such as SK Planet, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, BNK Financial Group, Korea Development Bank, and Korea Credit Guarantee Fund. The hub is also promoting initiatives to support data-driven marketing, attract investment, and facilitate global expansion.
