Discusses Improvements to Customized Public Rental Housing with Resident Youths
The National Policy Planning Committee, which is responsible for outlining the policy framework of the Lee Jaemyung administration, discussed ways to expand the supply of purchased rental housing in areas preferred by young people. On July 10, the Economic Subcommittee 2 of the Policy Planning Committee visited 'Anam Saenghwal,' a youth-specialized rental housing facility, toured the premises, and held an on-site discussion with resident youths.
The visit was attended by members of the Policy Planning Committee, including Planning Commissioner Lee Junghun, as well as resident youths, representatives from private operators, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
'Anam Saenghwal' is a rental housing project proposed by the private sector with a youth theme. It was created by remodeling an abandoned tourist hotel and is supplied at a deposit of 1 million won and a monthly rent ranging from 270,000 to 350,000 won, depending on the exclusive area and whether it is a duplex. The facility is equipped with community spaces favored by young people, such as a shared kitchen, coworking space, and shared meeting rooms.
