Original Disney+ Series Release
"Pine" Dialogue and Fan Art Contests to Be Held
The webtoon "Pine" by author Yoon Taeho, presented by Kakao Entertainment, is being reborn as an original series on Disney+. To celebrate the release of the series, a variety of events will be held, including a contest in which Yoon Taeho will participate directly.
On July 9, Kakao Entertainment announced that "Pine: Country Bumpkins," the Disney+ original series adapted from the Kakao Webtoon "Pine," will be released on July 16. The webtoon "Pine," which has accumulated 100 million views, vividly portrays the desperate and fierce stories of various criminals who gather to plunder treasures hidden off the coast of Sinan.
Coinciding with the release of the Disney+ original series, a contest in which Yoon Taeho will serve as a judge will be held. Until July 15, the "Pine" Dialogue Contest and Fan Art Contest will take place on KakaoPage. In the Dialogue Contest, fans are invited to create witty lines for selected key scenes from "Pine." The Fan Art Contest is an event where readers submit their own fan art related to either the webtoon "Pine" or the Disney+ original series "Pine: Country Bumpkins."
Ten winners of the Dialogue Contest will receive a "Pine" print volume, and 100 participants will be awarded KakaoPage cash worth 10,000 KRW. Winners of the Fan Art Contest will receive prizes such as an iPad and a three-month Disney+ subscription. In addition, readers who watch the main trailer for "Pine: Country Bumpkins" and leave a comment will be entered into a draw to win KakaoPage cash worth 10,000 KRW.
Fun events inspired by the storyline of "Pine" will also be held on Kakao Webtoon and KakaoPage. The "Treasure Hunt Event," running until July 15, will select readers who find porcelain treasures while reading "Pine" in order, awarding them with benefits such as usage passes for the series, autographed posters from the cast of "Pine: Country Bumpkins," and a white porcelain tea set. Starting July 16, the "Authentic Masterpieces" event will award a variety of prizes, including a pure gold moon jar object worth 1 million KRW, to quiz winners on KakaoPage and binge readers on Kakao Webtoon, selected by lottery.
