One Worker in Cardiac Arrest, Another Missing in Incheon Manhole
Two workers lost consciousness or went missing inside a road manhole in Incheon, prompting fire authorities to launch a rescue operation.
According to the Incheon Fire Department, at around 9:22 a.m. on July 6, a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, was found in cardiac arrest inside a road manhole in Byeongbangdong, Gyeyang District.
Mr. A received emergency treatment, including CPR, from 119 paramedics who responded to the scene, and was transported to a hospital for further care.

Fire authorities explained that they are using tools such as a geographic information system (GIS) to identify the location of pipelines inside the manhole as they search for Mr. B.

A fire department official stated, "We have not yet confirmed what specific work they were doing inside the manhole," adding, "We plan to continue the search operation along the pipelines."
