View original imageAccording to Russian authorities and local media reports on July 3 (local time), Russian Navy Vice Admiral Mikhail Gudkov was struck by a Ukrainian missile the previous day at a field headquarters established in the Kursk region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Gudkov died during combat operations the previous day in the Kursk border area.
Gudkov, the second-highest-ranking officer in the Russian Navy, is one of the highest-ranking generals killed by Ukrainian forces since the start of the special military operation.
