China's military and coast guard have both announced that they conducted patrol activities in the disputed territories of the Senkaku Islands (known as Diaoyu Dao in China) and the South China Sea.
On July 3, the Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army stated on its official social media account that it had organized air and naval forces to conduct combat readiness and vigilance patrols in the territorial waters and airspace of China's Huangyan Dao (Scarborough Shoal) and surrounding areas.

View original imageThe Southern Theater Command emphasized that, since June, it has strengthened patrols and vigilance around the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao, asserting that it is firmly safeguarding national sovereignty and security and is more resolutely maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea region.
On the same day, the China Coast Guard also reported on its official social media account that a flotilla of vessel 1306 had conducted patrols in the territorial waters of Diaoyu Dao. The China Coast Guard explained that these patrol activities were conducted in accordance with the law to protect China's rights and interests.
