View original imageOn July 1, the Seohae Coast Guard Headquarters conducted on-site security inspections in the Yeosu area to prevent maritime safety accidents and strengthen emergency response posture during the typhoon season.
On this day, Commissioner Lee Myungjun of the Seohae Coast Guard Headquarters visited the Yeosu Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries and discussed measures to prevent maritime accidents during typhoons through inter-agency cooperation.
He also visited the Yeosu Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Center and the Yeosu Marine Police Substation to review operational status, and inspected key vessel shelter areas and the safety management of water leisure equipment in preparation for typhoon conditions.
In addition, he urged staff to strengthen accident prevention activities and ensure swift response in preparation for typhoons.
Commissioner Lee stated, "We will do our utmost to enable the public to enjoy maritime activities with peace of mind through proactive safety management," and added, "We also ask the public to refrain from setting sail during adverse weather conditions."
Meanwhile, the Seohae Coast Guard Headquarters has designated the period until October 31 as the typhoon preparedness and response period, and will carry out activities to minimize typhoon damage in the region.
