CJ CGV to Temporarily Close All Locations on July 14... Unveiling Next-Generation System
"Responding to a Changing Environment
with Sophisticated and Fast Operations"
CJ CGV announced on July 1 that all of its locations nationwide will be temporarily closed for one day on July 14.
This measure is due to the migration to a next-generation system. The company aims to streamline the movie ticket reservation process and introduce application-based reservation systems for services such as 'Pickers (climbing gym)' and 'Rollroll (comic cafe)'. Additionally, a more robust firewall will be implemented compared to the previous system, further enhancing the protection of customer information.
The company will also launch 'CineTalk', a new platform where audiences can write reviews and share opinions related to movies. CJ CGV plans to collaborate with film production and distribution companies to provide highly reliable movie information.

To use the new system, customers will need to download the new mobile application starting at 8:00 a.m. on July 15. CGV stated, "This is a significant turning point as we redesign the overall content consumption experience for our customers and upgrade our theater operation system," adding, "We will respond to the changing environment with a more sophisticated and faster operating system."
