"Purchase Gift Certificates" ... Changwon Special City to Issue 20 Billion Won Worth of Nubijeon from July 10 to 11
Individual Purchase Limit of 200,000 Won, 7% Discount Rate
Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province will issue 20 billion won worth of Changwon Sarang Gift Certificates, called Nubijeon, from July 10 to July 11 in an effort to boost the stagnant local economy.
This issuance of Nubijeon will be available only in mobile format. Each individual may purchase up to 200,000 won at a 7% discount rate.
The purchase date for the mobile gift certificates varies depending on the buyer's year of birth. Those born in 1960 or earlier can make priority purchases starting at 9:00 a.m. on July 10, while those born after 1961 can purchase them from 9:00 a.m. on July 11. However, if someone born in 1960 or earlier does not make a purchase on July 10, they may still purchase on July 11.
Mobile gift certificates can be purchased through the Nubijeon app, Bipple ZeroPay, Kyongnam Bank mobile banking, and the All One Bank (Nonghyup) app. Sales will automatically end once the allocated budget is exhausted.
Additionally, in April, the city became the first local government in the nation to launch "Nubicon," a new type of mobile gift certificate that combines Nubijeon and "Gifticon."
Although Nubicon does not offer a discount benefit, each person can purchase up to 2 million won and can gift up to 30,000 won per person. Nubicon can be used at any Nubijeon-affiliated merchant, greatly expanding consumer choice.
Park Jinyeol, Director of Economic and Job Affairs, stated, "Consumer sentiment has been significantly dampened due to domestic and international economic instability, so we have increased the issuance of Changwon Sarang Gift Certificates, Nubijeon, to stimulate consumption," adding, "We hope this will help revitalize the local economy."
