Samsung SDI Marks 55th Anniversary... President Choi Juseon Vows to Overcome Chilling Reality and Achieve Growth Amid Crisis

Choi Juseon, President and CEO of Samsung SDI, emphasized his awareness of the current crisis and his sense of responsibility as a leader during the company's founding anniversary, which he attended for the first time since taking office.
On July 1, Samsung SDI held its 55th anniversary ceremony at its headquarters in Giheung, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The event was attended by key executives including President Choi, recipients of the 'SDI Impression' award for outstanding achievements in each business division, and long-serving employees. The ceremony was held in the form of an awards presentation and a roundtable discussion.
In his commemorative address, President Choi stated, "It is during difficult times that true capabilities are revealed," and added, "If we believe in our strength and potential and work together, we will soon be able to make even greater strides."
He continued, "The market is constantly changing," and emphasized, "To take a step forward, it is important to reflect, but also to create with wisdom that encompasses both the present and the future."
He further stressed, "We must achieve differentiated technological capabilities, rebuild our manufacturing competitiveness, normalize electrode, assembly, and pack technologies, and succeed in new electronic materials businesses." He encouraged employees by saying, "Let us persevere and keep working until everyone joins these changes and achieves great results."
Toward the end of his address, he set the tone by promising responsible leadership. President Choi said, "We can do it, and we will definitely achieve it," and added, "I will take the lead and do my best to create the inspiring future you imagine and expect. I will take responsibility."

Meanwhile, this was the first time President Choi, who was appointed CEO of Samsung SDI at the end of last year, attended the founding anniversary ceremony. He expressed his sincere gratitude by saying, "Thank you for doing your best in your respective positions despite challenging circumstances."
