Gwangju Donggu Establishes Dedicated Team to Accelerate AI Adoption in Administration
On June 30, Gwangju Donggu District announced that, starting next month, it will reorganize its existing "Innovation Evaluation Team" into the "AI Administrative Innovation Team." The district will establish and operate a dedicated function aimed at improving internal administrative efficiency and the quality of administrative services based on artificial intelligence (AI).
The AI Administrative Innovation Team, which will begin operations on July 2, has been planned as a proactive measure to accelerate the application of AI in the public sector and to promote sustainable administrative innovation, in line with an era where everyone can utilize and benefit from AI.
The AI Administrative Innovation Team will oversee the overall planning of AI administrative services and lead internal innovation throughout Donggu. The team also plans to further strengthen and advance related projects that have been pursued so far, including AI healthcare startup development, AI-IoT health management, and the creation of a smart green city.
In addition, the team will focus on identifying and expanding new AI-based administrative service innovation projects that residents can experience firsthand. It will also gradually implement AI utilization training for all employees to enhance the digital capabilities of the entire organization.
Lim Taek, head of Donggu District Office, stated, "In this rapidly changing digital era, AI is no longer a technology of the future but an administrative tool we must use now. Centering on the AI Administrative Innovation Team, we will build a smarter administrative system that is faster, more accurate, and more resident-friendly."
