Jennie, a member of the leading K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, is seeing her first full-length solo album 'Ruby' continuously recognized as 'Album of the Year' by major music publications in the English-speaking world.
According to an article published on June 26 (local time) on the official website of the British music magazine NME, Jennie's first solo studio album 'Ruby' was selected as one of "The Best Albums of 2025."
'Ruby' was produced by Jennie herself, capturing her identity and limitless musical potential. The album features a total of 15 tracks across various genres, including the title track 'like JENNIE.'
NME described 'Ruby' as "a bold and original new release." The magazine further commented, "Jennie has astonishingly and vividly taken control of her own mythology," highlighting 'Zen' as a key track.
In addition, major American music magazines such as Rolling Stone, Complex, and Billboard also named Jennie the only K-pop artist to be included in their lists of "The Best Albums of 2025."
Upon its release, Jennie's 'Ruby' received a score of 7.1 from the renowned American music criticism magazine Pitchfork.
Previously, 'Ruby' was also included in Billboard's "The 50 Best Albums of 2025 So Far," published on June 24. Jennie was the only K-pop artist to make the list, which also featured pop star The Weeknd's 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' and country singer Morgan Wallen's 'I'm the Problem.'
