City Council Approves Project Plan
Construction Scheduled to Begin in 2028 and 2029
Daejeon Urban Corporation announced on the 25th that it will begin full-scale promotion of the Odong·Bonggok District industrial complex development project, following the approval of the project plan by the city council.
Approval of the project plan by the city council is a mandatory procedure under the Local Public Enterprises Act when pursuing new investment projects with a total project cost of 50 billion won or more.
With the passage of this approval, the city is expected to take another step toward achieving the core goal of the 8th popularly elected administration: the creation of "5 million pyeong + alpha of industrial complexes."
Daejeon Urban Corporation plans to invest 270 billion won in the Odong District to create an industrial complex covering 824,000 square meters, with construction scheduled to begin in 2028 after completing the necessary administrative procedures.
For the Bonggok District, the corporation plans to invest 130 billion won to develop a 332,000 square meter area, with construction scheduled to begin in 2029 after completing administrative procedures such as initiating a study to lift development restrictions.
A representative from Daejeon Urban Corporation stated, "This project will greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy by enhancing the competitiveness of local industries and attracting companies through the creation of industrial complexes." The representative also pledged to do their utmost to complete the remaining administrative procedures quickly so that the project can proceed without delay.
