Korea Rail Network Authority Renews 'ISO Integrated Management System' Certification... "Proving Competitiveness and Credibility"
On June 24, the Korea Rail Network Authority announced that it had completed the renewal of its 'International Standard (ISO) Integrated Management System' certification, a key benchmark for evaluating domestic and international companies, following audits by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the Korean Standards Association (KSA).
The ISO Integrated Management System is a management certification framework that consolidates international standards in quality (ISO 9001), environment (ISO 14001), and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001). The purpose of operating this certification system is to generate sustainable organizational performance and enhance stakeholder satisfaction through systematic activities in each area.
The Korea Rail Network Authority was the first agency under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to obtain ISO Integrated Management System certification in 2005. Since then, it has undergone annual follow-up audits to verify the implementation of processes and improvement efforts across quality, environment, and occupational health and safety sectors.
This year, during the renewal audit conducted every three years, the authority was recognized for 32 best practices, including the operation of a construction materials quality testing center, the installation of dust reduction equipment at construction sites, and the provision of VR safety experience training. As a result, the certification was renewed, reaffirming the authority's management competitiveness and external credibility.
