Leap Forward as an Economic City of the Future
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province has attracted large-scale corporate investments totaling 1.3 trillion won during the first half of 2025, laying a solid foundation for the realization of "Paju, a city of one million residents."
This round of investment includes LG Uplus's plan to build an artificial intelligence data center (AIDC) worth 615.6 billion won, as well as LG Display's investment of 700 billion won in organic light-emitting diode (OLED) facilities. These consecutive investments in advanced industries are expected to serve as a cornerstone for Paju's leap forward as an economic city of the future.
The LG Uplus artificial intelligence data center (AIDC) project aims to establish specialized infrastructure for AI computation and large-scale data processing, thereby meeting the growing demand for cloud-based digital transformation and securing a foundation for next-generation communication services. It is anticipated that this facility will become a key data center hub for the northern Gyeonggi region.
The LG Display OLED facility investment project is designed to proactively respond to the increasing global demand for organic light-emitting diode (OLED) products by building infrastructure for the production of panels and modules equipped with next-generation premium technologies.
