View original imageOn the 23rd, Jeollanam-do announced that the Jeonnam Cultural Tourism Guide Association held a Unity Event at the Jangseong County Community Center, where participants strengthened mutual exchange and unity, and pledged to work towards realizing "Global Tourism Jeonnam."
The event was attended by Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Youngrok, Jangseong County Governor Kim Hanjong, Jangseong County Council Chairman Shim Minseop, Jeollanam-do council members, and about 300 cultural tourism guides from Jeonnam.
This Unity Event brought together cultural tourism guides from 22 cities and counties in an integrated gathering, and provided opportunities to enhance the guides' capabilities through field trips to major tourist sites such as Philam Seowon and Hwangryong River.
In addition, the event included a Daedong Unity Festival with the Jangseong Nongak Troupe, allowing guides to interact and reaffirming their commitment to realize "Global Tourism Jeonnam" through inspiring guidance at the forefront of Jeonnam tourism.
Governor Kim encouraged the participants by saying, "During the 'Jeonnam Visit Month' in May, the number of tourists to Jeonnam reached an unprecedented 7.88 million, setting a record for the highest number ever in May. This achievement is thanks to the dedication and passion of the cultural tourism guides working in the field."
He also requested, "Please do your utmost to ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 Jeonnam International Ink Biennale and the 2025 Namdo International Culinary Industry Expo starting this fall, as well as the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo."
