Uljugun Selected as "Outstanding Institution" in Korea Forest Service Joint Government Evaluation for Second Consecutive Year
Uljugun in Ulsan has been selected as an outstanding institution in the "2025 Joint Government Evaluation in the Forestry Sector" organized by the Korea Forest Service. This marks the second consecutive year the county has received this recognition.
The Korea Forest Service conducts an annual joint government evaluation targeting 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, assessing five key areas: forest resource development, response to landslides and wildfires, pest and disease control, and timber utilization.
Uljugun received high marks for its ongoing publicity and enforcement to prevent wildfires caused by burning, timely implementation of landslide prevention projects in preparation for typhoons and heavy rainfall, and strategic budget allocation and execution for controlling pine wilt disease. In particular, practical policies such as hands-on events and promotional activities to promote timber utilization were highlighted as exemplary cases.
