Mofac Studio announced on the 20th that the animated film "King of Kings" will be released on July 16.
This work, created entirely with domestic technology and capital, recorded a box office revenue of $60,248,059 (approximately 82.8 billion KRW) in North America. The story follows British author Charles Dickens and his youngest son Walter as they embark on a journey into a great tale from 2,000 years ago, depicting the journey from the birth to the resurrection of Jesus. Jang Sung-ho, CEO of Mofac Studio and a renowned visual effects (VFX) master in Korea, wrote the screenplay and directed the film. The voice cast includes actors Lee Byunghun, Jin Seonkyu, Lee Hanee, Yang Donggeun, Cha Inpyo, Kwon Ohjoong, Jang Gwang, and Choi Hari, among others.

This film was first released in North America on April 11, where it surpassed "Parasite" ($53,847,897) to become the highest-grossing Korean film in the region. It is being praised for overcoming the high barriers of the North American market that Asian animations such as Hayao Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle" ($9,173,958) and "Spirited Away" ($15,205,725) had previously faced.
