Approximately 70 elderly participants attended the session on June 16. The curriculum focused on practical topics closely related to daily life, such as the driver's license return system for elderly drivers, examples of risks while walking, and accident prevention guidelines, thereby improving understanding. In particular, the customized approach based on real-life cases received a positive response.
Jung Jongbok, mayor of Gijang County, stated, "With traffic accidents involving the elderly continuing to rise, it is important to provide on-site education." He added, "We will continue to offer education and outreach to make Gijang a traffic safety city where the elderly can live with peace of mind."
In addition to this program, Gijang County is accelerating the expansion of customized policies and safety infrastructure for vulnerable road users.
