On the morning of June 18, the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency (Chief Park Sungju), together with the Seo District Office and the Seobu Fire Station, conducted an on-site inspection in areas around Yangdong Market that are at risk of flooding, as part of preparations for natural disasters during the summer. The inspection covered the underground parking lot at Yangdong Market, Yangyugyo Bridge, and Taepyeonggyo Bridge?areas considered vulnerable to flooding if the water level of the Gwangju Stream rises. The police plan to strengthen preemptive inspections and patrols at 320 vulnerable locations within their jurisdiction, and will cooperate with related agencies to respond to storm and flood disasters.
