Outstanding Performance in All Areas
Achieving the Highest Rating for Five Consecutive Years
Jungnang District in Seoul has been recognized for its disaster management capabilities and has been selected as an "Outstanding Institution" in the "2025 Disaster Management Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This evaluation was conducted through both document reviews and on-site assessments across six areas: common criteria, prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and additional/deducted points. It targeted 340 disaster management agencies nationwide, including central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions. The results are categorized into three levels: outstanding, average, and insufficient.
Jungnang District received high scores in all areas, including the disaster safety leadership of its chief executive, maintenance and management of disaster prevention facilities, pedestrian-centered traffic safety policies, management of crisis response manuals, establishment of public-private cooperation systems, a 24-hour disaster response system and case-based response capabilities, as well as post-disaster site management and disaster relief infrastructure management. As a result, the district was named an outstanding institution.
The district also received high marks for its continuous efforts to strengthen effective response systems, such as operating a disaster safety situation room, introducing a mobile situation room, providing disaster response training, and establishing a support system for affected residents. Through thorough advance preparations, the district has achieved the highest rating for five consecutive years in the "Natural Disaster Safety Diagnosis Evaluation" and has established a system that enables rapid response to various disasters through its 24-hour disaster safety situation room.
