Special Prosecutor Eunseok Jo Meets Prosecution and Police Martial Law Investigation Leaders... Swift Action After Appointment
Just one day after being appointed as the special prosecutor for the insurrection investigation, Eunseok Jo met with the leadership of the prosecution and police to discuss the investigation into former President Yoon Sukyeol's 12·3 Martial Law.
On June 13, Jo held a meeting in the morning at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office with Park Sehyun, head of the Special Investigation Headquarters for Martial Law at the prosecution (Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office). Later, at around 3 p.m., he visited the Special Investigation Unit for Martial Law at the police.
Jo appears to have visited both the prosecution and the police in succession to discuss the current status and progress of the ongoing investigation, as well as issues such as the dispatch of prosecutors and investigators.
In a statement released in the morning, Jo said, "I will approach this investigation with the utmost attention to detail, as if I were recording official annals, and will carry out my duties as special prosecutor solely based on investigative logic."
Regarding the direction of the special investigation, he stated that he would provide further explanation once the composition of the investigation team and the selection of the office are finalized.
The special investigation team for the insurrection case is expected to be formed with 267 members, making it the largest special prosecutor team in history.
