'One Miracle Survivor'... British National Survives Crash of Indian Passenger Plane
Vishwas Ramesh, a British National of Indian Descent, Survives
An Air India passenger plane carrying over 240 people crashed into a residential area shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad in western India on June 12 (local time), with one survivor miraculously found.
According to foreign media outlets including the BBC, a British national named Vishwas Ramesh was the sole survivor of the plane crash.
Vishwas Ramesh was seated in 11A on the Boeing 787-8. He sustained injuries to his chest, eyes, and feet, but was reportedly able to move on his own when rescued. He is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

Air India announced that the passenger plane, which departed Ahmedabad at 1:38 p.m. and was headed for London, crashed five minutes after takeoff. According to the airline, there were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals, and 1 Canadian national on board. While the majority of passengers are presumed dead, authorities have recovered approximately 200 bodies from the crash site.
